IBC Attendees to Get Hands-On with SmartPed Robotic Pedestal
Shotoku Broadcast Systems is set to showcase its latest advancements in camera support technology at this year's IBC show. The company will demonstrate its line of robotic pedestals, upgraded control systems, and new manual tripod series in Stand 12.E42.
The star of the show will be Shotoku's SmartPed Robotic Pedestal, a fully robotic XY pedestal that offers instant switchover between local/remote operation. The three-wheel smooth-steer pedestal features multi-zone collision avoidance and detection systems, precision-engineered electro-mechanical steer/drive system, and a new height column that eliminates the need for pneumatic balancing.
SmartRail and TR-XT Control Systems to Get Upgrades
In addition to SmartPed, Shotoku will also showcase its popular rail-based camera system, SmartRail, which supports floor or ceiling operation and offers a range of height column configurations. The company will also highlight upgrades to its TR-XT remote camera control system, including an enhanced External Control Automation Interface (ECI) that adds pre-set shot recall functionality and full joystick trim control.
New Manual Tripod Series for Handheld Cameras
Shotoku will introduce its new SD and SE manual tripod series, designed to provide quality support for handheld cameras. The SD range features fixed counterbalance and drag systems tailored to the payload of the head, while the SE range offers a high-quality drag system and multiple-level counterbalance system to ensure smooth on-air moves.
Free-d2 Absolute Tracking System for AR/VR Applications
Shotoku will also highlight its Free-d2 Absolute Tracking System, which provides highly accurate and constantly referenced position tracking. The system uses advanced video processing algorithms and simple ceiling markers to determine the exact position and orientation of the studio camera without physical encoder devices attached to the camera support's moving axes.
