HEBDEN BRIDGE, UK — Calrec Audio announced the launch of the Brio Duet, a compact digital broadcast audio console aimed at mid-tier television studios, regional broadcasters, and OB van operators looking for a step up from entry-level mixers without paying for flagship-class systems.

The Brio Duet ships with 36 faders across two layers (72 channels), 144 input paths, 48 output buses, and full Hydra2 networked audio support. Calrec rates its on-board DSP at 800 channel-process equivalents.

Key features include integrated Dante and AES67 connectivity, ST 2110-30 audio over IP, redundant power supplies, and a touchscreen workflow developed jointly with BBC Studios feedback.

“We hear the same need from regional broadcasters worldwide — they want our flagship features without the flagship footprint,” said Henry Goodman, Director of Sales and Marketing at Calrec Audio. “Brio Duet was engineered to deliver Apollo-class audio quality in a console small enough to fit any control room.”
