Firmware Update Enhances Monitoring Capabilities
The PIX-E Series, a line of 4K recording field monitors from Video Devices, has received a firmware update that adds several standard LUTs as well as the ability to utilize custom LUTs. The update also expands HDMI recording triggers to include Panasonic cameras.
The new LUT features allow production professionals to simulate their desired final appearance while still recording the full-dynamic range needed for post-production. Users can also take advantage of customizable touch-screen options for quick-tap comparison of simulated looks using up to four LUTs.
Expanded HDMI Trigger Support
The firmware update expands HDMI recording triggers to include Panasonic cameras, such as the Lumix GH4, in addition to previously supported Sony and Canon cameras.
The PIX-E Series includes two five-inch models, the PIX-E5 and PIX-E5H, as well as a forthcoming seven-inch model, the PIX-E7. The line was designed to cater to the varying needs of a diverse range of production professionals – from camera operators to video assist technicians.
Durable Design
The PIX-E monitors are built with die-cast metal housings and scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass 2, making them durable enough for demanding productions. The high-resolution displays offer color-accurate and sunlight-viewable LCDs in resolutions of 1920x1080 (PIX-E5 and PIX-E5H) or 1920x1200 (PIX-E7).
The firmware update is available now for the PIX-E Series, which will be on display at upcoming trade shows.
