The University of New Hampshire (UNH) has partnered with New Hampshire Public Television (NHPTV) and the New Hampshire Department of Safety (NH DOS) to deploy a new public safety datacasting system. Leveraging Triveni Digital's technology, this service ensures that emergency alerts can be transmitted in real time via text messages and rich media content, including video files, audio, text, and graphics.
The system is designed to deliver critical information during natural disasters and other emergencies directly to police vehicles and mobile devices across the state. This initiative underscores UNH's commitment to enhancing public safety through advanced technology solutions.
Technology Behind the System
The comprehensive solution includes Triveni Digital's GuideBuilder PSIP metadata generator, GuideBuilder Mobile metadata generator, and Skyscraper DTV content distribution system. These tools provide a unified platform for managing ATSC Mobile metadata and PSIP information, ensuring efficient content delivery.
UNH is one of the first entities to implement the new Mobile Emergency Alert System (M-EAS) specifications, demonstrating its leadership in emergency communication technology.
