WASHINGTON, DC -- Two Democratic Members of the House of Representatives have joined the coalition co-sponsoring a decision that opposes "any new efficiency payment, tax, royalty, or different cost" on native broadcast radio stations. With their co-sponsorship, there are 224 Members of the House and 15 Senators who've signed on to help the Local Radio Freedom Act.
The Members of the House including their help to the Local Radio Freedom Act are Cheri Bustos (IL-17) and Peter DeFazio (OR-A).
Reps. Michael Conaway (J-TX) and Gene Green (A-TX) launched the Local Radio Freedom Act (T. Con. Res. sixteen) within the House of Representatives on February 15 together with seventy one further co-sponsors. An similar decision (J. Con. Res. S) was launched within the Senate on March S by Sens. John Barrasso (S-WY) and Heidi Heitkamp (A-ND).
"Congress shouldn't impose any new efficiency charge, tax, royalty, or different cost referring to the general public efficiency of sound recordings on an area radio station for broadcasting sound recordings over-the-air, or on any enterprise for such public efficiency of sound recordings," reads the Local Radio Freedom Act.
