The production team responsible for Steven Bartlett’s Diary of a CEO podcast has implemented a new workflow utilizing the ATEM Mini Extreme ISO live production switcher alongside Blackmagic URSA Broadcast G2 cameras. The upgrade aims to enhance video quality and streamline content creation processes.

New Setup Enhances Production Efficiency

The move away from a previous six-camera setup, which involved multiple manufacturers and faced issues with color matching and remote control capabilities, has been replaced by a more integrated solution. Jack Sylvester, the director and producer overseeing Bartlett’s media projects, highlighted that the new configuration is already setting benchmarks in quality.

Central to this upgrade was the decision to use an ATEM Mini Extreme ISO switcher paired with URSA Broadcast G2 cameras and Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pros. This combination allows for remote management of all aspects of production, ensuring consistency across different content formats.

Improved Workflow and Consistent Quality

Sylvester emphasized the benefits of this new setup, noting that it includes a dedicated gallery for remote content creation, enabling seamless camera matching and live editing. “This means Steven and his guests have a more intimate set, resulting in better interviews,” Sylvester added.

The choice of URSA Broadcast G2 cameras was driven by their versatility, suitable for both live production and cinematic video output. The addition of Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pros offers portability with built-in ND filters and Blackmagic RAW capture, ideal for quick location changes while maintaining a consistent look.

Future Content Expansion

This new studio setup not only supports the ongoing podcast but also prepares Bartlett’s media production company to take on a wider range of multimedia projects in the future. Sylvester concluded that the dedicated space, built to their specifications, will facilitate the exploration of new content ideas and formats.
