A communications and marketing agency based in Madrid and Barcelona, Evercom, has produced a commemorative video for John Deere Financial's Spanish arm to mark its 20th anniversary. The project highlights the brand's success over two decades by showcasing real stories from dealers and farmers.
Generational Storytelling
The video chronicles the journey of John Deere Financial in Spain through a narrative that emphasizes tradition and continuity. Father and son are central figures, symbolizing the passage of knowledge and values between generations. The story unfolds across three picturesque locations in Spain: garlic fields in Valladolid, landscapes in Lleida, and John Deere's offices in Parla.
Cinematic Production
Jonathan Bellés, audiovisual producer at Evercom, chose a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro to capture the visuals. The camera was set up for a panoramic 2:4:1 aspect ratio, giving the video a cinematic feel. Some scenes were also shot in 2.8K 17:9 at 120 fps for slow-motion effects.
Bellés opted for a Canon 24-105mm lens and a Sigma 18-35mm F1.8 to balance versatility with ease of use, particularly in field conditions where lighting varied. The Blackmagic Pocket Camera Battery Pro Grip provided sufficient power for extended shoots, while the SmallRig cage facilitated accessory mounting.
Post Production
The video was edited using Blackmagic RAW 5:1 constant bitrate, which allowed for flexible adjustments in post-production without compromising quality. The entire project, from filming to completion, took about five days to complete.
Bellés praised the Pocket Camera 6K Pro's reliability and its ability to capture a cinematic look, making it suitable for various projects ranging from commercials to podcasts.
