Partnership Streamlines Skype-Based Interviews for Live Productions

Broadcast Pix and Quicklink Video Distribution Services Ltd. have announced a strategic partnership to offer Quicklink TX, a cost-effective solution for integrating Skype-based interviews into live productions.

The partnership enables producers and engineers to manage Skype audio and/or video for broadcast without the need to scan convert from a PC. The 1 RU Quicklink TX appliance performs all scaling and provides frame-accurate video to Broadcast Pix's integrated production switchers, including Flint, Mica, and Granite models.

The solution allows Skype video calls to be seamlessly integrated into any production without subjecting users to pop-up ads or interference from other nearby calls. If line quality becomes unacceptable for transmitting live video, the Quicklink TX falls back to a still image while maintaining audio call quality.

Partnership Benefits Broadcasters and Media Professionals

The partnership offers several benefits to broadcasters and media professionals, including the ability to connect Skype individual and multiple calls to their switchers without requiring additional inputs. This simplifies the integration process and reduces the need for additional equipment or personnel.
