GPL Technologies and NVIDIA are teaming up at SIGGRAPH 2016 (booth 275) to showcase the powerful NVIDIA's GRID technology which will feature demos of Mechdyne's TGX desktop software and NVIDIA Quadro VCArunning the Iray GPU rendering plug-in! The joint demonstration of the VDI workstation will show just how cool and powerful these applications are to the industry professional.
“NVIDIA’s GRID technology has made it practical to run graphics-intensive applications such as Maya and Nuke on virtual desktops,” says GPL Technologies CEO Brian Terrell. “Visual effects producers can now enjoy the benefits of VDI, including security of assets, centralized workstations and the efficient utilization of HW resources in a pooled environment, just as they do with VM servers.”
Other noteworthy demonstrations will the introduction of NVIDIA's newly-developed DGX-1! This super computer is a one of a kind where it will literally recognize images along with automate many user tasks- this is especially powerful for performing all of the creative checklists that are associated with being a virtualization professional!
“Deep learning is one of the most significant new developments for visual effects producers,” says Terrell. “By enabling machines to recognize images, deep learning has the potential to automate many routine tasks. Machines can now perform certain creative tasks.”
