I had a customer who had been given the task of designing an outside broadcast system for a news-based helicopter in Los Angeles. He was very concerned about product reliability. And the products he would spec would have to be space-saving, and, of course, very rugged. BrightEye™ met the checklist on paper, but in a helicopter? We are talking about major vibrations and a serious heat concern. The BrightEye equipment would be stacked in a metal enclosure in the middle of the ship. There was little or no air circulation in the environment at all. I am very happy to say that BrightEye met the challenge with flying colors and that customer has become the litmus test for reliability for all of our BrightEye products. That phone call came eight years ago, and I am happy to say that the same, original BrightEye equipment is still flying in that ship daily with a news operation in Sacramento, California.
