A documentary series on Alabama Public Television (APT) is giving viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the state's agricultural industry. The show, Spotlight on Agriculture, is produced by Real World Productions and features high-quality 4K footage captured with a JVC GY-LS300 camera.

The quarterly series, which began airing in February, focuses on the research and innovations taking place at Auburn University's College of Agriculture and School of Forestry and Wildlife Services. The show has produced eight hour-long episodes so far, with more planned over the next two years.
Real World Productions' owner, Gary Brown, used his JVC GY-LS300 to capture interview footage and B-roll of various agricultural activities, including crop harvesting and catfish farming. He praised the camera's lightweight design, which allowed him to get shots in tight spaces, such as riding on a tractor.
4K Footage for Broadcast
The GY-LS300 is capable of capturing 4K footage at 24fps, which was downconverted to HD for broadcast. Brown noted that the camera's Prime Zoom feature allowed him to zoom in and out without losing resolution or depth of field with his prime Tamron lenses.
JVC Professional Video designed the GY-LS300 specifically for documentarians, cinematographers, and broadcast production departments. The camera features a 4K Super 35 CMOS sensor and an industry standard Micro Four Thirds (MFT) lens mount, allowing users to connect a wide range of lenses via adapters.
