A cross-platform, standalone encoder designed for seamless integration with evolving video technologies has been unveiled by Pronology at NAB 2018 (Booth SL7927). StreamFile Core supports a range of IP standards and file-based codecs, facilitating the transition to an IP-based platform without disrupting current workflows.
Features and Benefits
StreamFile Core is compatible with various IP standards including Aspen, NDI, NMI, SMPTE 2022, and SMPTE 2110. It also works with file-based codecs such as ProRes, DNX, and XDCam. This dual functionality ensures that facilities can utilize their existing non-linear editing systems (NLE), graphics, and digital infrastructure during the transition phase.
Jonathan Aroesty, president of Pronology, highlighted the tool's benefits: 'Compatibility, low cost, reliability, and ease-of-use make StreamFile Core a must-have for companies interested in integrating with emerging IP technologies.'
Design and Functionality
Built upon the same core as Pronology's award-winning mRes encoder, StreamFile Core offers a future-proof solution. It is agnostic to frame rate and resolution, allowing for analysis and validation of hardware to ensure compatibility, simple setup, and optimal performance.
The application's architecture ensures that users can utilize evolving IP video standards without the need for hardware upgrades. Its user-friendly interface simplifies operations, making it accessible to companies of various sizes.
