Chyron has introduced PRIME 4.10, the latest version of its live production engine, aimed at optimizing modern graphics workflows in news and sports broadcasting. The update includes enhancements that streamline operations and improve the quality of NDI productions.

New Features Boost Workflow Efficiency

One major improvement is support for NDI 6, which offers 10+ bit HLG-based HDR support for video-over-IP connectivity. This enhancement allows broadcasters to produce high-quality HDR content with seamless integration of live feeds and graphics.

Frame Rate Compatibility

PRIME 4.10 now supports automatic frame rate adjustment for clips, eliminating the need for manual conversion. This feature ensures that all media assets play smoothly without disruptions, regardless of their original frame rates.

Customizable Master Control Panels

The update also introduces customizable hotkey behaviors and enhanced master control panel functionalities. Users can now create simple second-monitor multiviewers and prioritize real-time data updates, such as game scores, with greater accuracy.

JavaScript Enhancements

Building on the JavaScript Effect and Resource Toolset introduced in PRIME 4.8, PRIME 4.10 includes additional JavaScript events and objects. These features empower playout operators to enhance graphics dynamically using API data, improving storytelling and visual integration.

Future Developments

This release marks the final major update of the PRIME 4 series before the introduction of PRIME 5.0 at IBC2024. The upcoming version will focus on workflow efficiencies with a new gRPC API, enabling more sophisticated integrations and enhanced visual storytelling.
