Mobius Labs has introduced a new multimodal AI technology designed specifically for the media and entertainment industry. This system enables organizations to query their content libraries as they would chat with conversational AI like ChatGPT, but tailored to handle video, audio, and text data.
Combining Vision, Audio, and Language
The technology integrates computer vision, audio recognition, and large language models to provide a comprehensive understanding of media content. This approach allows the AI to analyze scenes and episodes based on visual cues, sound, and textual descriptions without human intervention.
Appu Shaji, CEO and Chief Scientist at Mobius Labs, explained, “This multimodal AI technology combines what the AI sees, hears, and reads to create a more nuanced understanding of content. This makes search and recommendation infinitely more powerful.”
New Capabilities in Content Management
Building on Mobius Labs’ Visual DNA solution for metadata tagging, this new multimodal technology automates the process of describing and indexing media files. Unlike previous AI solutions that required extensive customization, this out-of-the-box system can be used across various applications without significant engineering efforts.
The headless SDK offered by Mobius Labs ensures data privacy by keeping information local rather than transferring it to a centralized server. This method not only reduces network communication costs but also enhances security and compliance with data protection regulations.
Efficiency and Scalability
Mobius Labs’ R&D team has made strides in optimizing the technology, making their model up to 20 times more efficient than competitors. This efficiency reduces the marginal cost of running AI solutions, allowing media companies to scale operations without a large data science team.
Jeremy Deaner, COO at Mobius Labs, highlighted the company’s commitment to innovation: “Our R&D efforts are focused on bringing cutting-edge technology to the M&E industry.” As data volumes grow, this approach ensures that AI solutions remain cost-effective and scalable.
Enhanced Recommendations and Engagement
The new technology can be integrated into existing systems to enhance recommendation algorithms. This integration allows media companies to provide personalized content suggestions at scale, increasing customer engagement without the need for extensive data science expertise.
Mobius Labs’ solution is designed to work efficiently in various environments—on-premise, on edge devices, or in the cloud—making it adaptable to different organizational needs. The company will demonstrate this technology at IBC 2023 on booth 5.G04.
