Volcano Documentary Filmmakers Rely on Miller Camera Support Equipment
Filmmaker Geoff Mackley and award-winning photographer Bradley Ambrose recently embarked on an extreme adventure to capture the fiery fury of the Ambrym volcano in Vanuatu. To ensure their equipment held up under the harsh conditions, they chose Miller Camera Support Equipment's Air Carbon Fibre System.
The duo spent a week documenting every spurt of ash, lava, and steam that emerged from the volcano's Marum crater. They used lighter cameras, including Sony NXCAM, Sony 4K Handycam, and Canon EOS 5D Mark III DSLR, to complement the Air Carbon Fibre System.
Miller's Air Tripod Systems consist of an Air Fluid Head and a variant of the Solo 75 2-Stage Tripod. The Air Fluid Head features two positions of selectable counterbalance and a dual pan handle option, allowing payloads ranging from 2 kg to 5 kg to be supported.
