Media Storm has created high-quality fake window videos for projector maker XGIMI, utilizing the URSA Mini Pro 12K camera from Blackmagic Design. The project involved capturing scenes such as underwater views, waterfalls, bamboo forests, trains, and Mars landscapes in 12K resolution.
Technical Choices and Challenges
The team at Media Storm opted for the URSA Mini Pro 12K due to its superior image quality, including a dynamic range of 14 stops and support for recording RAW. This choice was crucial for achieving the clarity and realism required for these immersive videos.
Location Filming
The crew traveled across China to capture various natural settings, facing diverse challenges. In Xishuangbanna, they filmed a waterfall scene amidst heavy rain without protective measures, while in the arid region of Eboliang, the camera handled strong winds and dust.
Post-Production Workflow
All footage was captured at 12K resolution, 50fps, using Blackmagic RAW compression at a ratio of 12:1. Media Storm edited and graded the content using DaVinci Resolve Studio, leveraging its powerful tools to ensure the best possible image quality.
