At the 2024 NAB Show in Las Vegas, Matrox Video will demonstrate a range of products designed to enhance IP- and IT-based media workflows. The company's lineup includes updates to its Monarch EDGE encoders and decoders, the ConvertIP converter series, and new solutions like ORIGIN for live production and Extio 3 KVM extenders.
Monarch EDGE Enhancements
The latest release of Matrox Monarch EDGE introduces new features such as HDR support, Dolby audio, and enhanced VANC metadata capabilities. These advancements make the encoder/decoder series a robust solution for backhaul, contribution, video transport, and distribution workflows. Industry platforms like GlobalM have recognized Monarch EDGE as a preferred encoder for high-quality streams.
ConvertIP Expands Capabilities
Matrox ConvertIP bridges traditional baseband and IP-based workflows by converting HDMI or SDI signals to and from ST 2110 and IPMX. Demonstrations will highlight its daisy-chain capabilities, which reduce costs and increase monitoring flexibility. ConvertIP is compatible with cameras like RED and Panasonic, making it a valuable tool for camera-to-IP production.
Matrox ORIGIN: Cloud-Based Live Production
Designed for broadcasters and live content providers, Matrox ORIGIN offers a scalable, flexible cloud-based live production solution. Built on a cloud-native IT architecture, this platform supports best-of-breed applications and operates on an opex model, helping to redefine live production in software-defined infrastructure.
New Extio 3 KVM Extenders
Matrox's new Extio 3 IP KVM extenders enable low-bit-rate, glitch-free video extension over 1GbE networks. These extenders support advanced multiview capabilities and enhanced security features, including encryption and user/device authentication. The KMLync KM switch complements the extender series by providing seamless control across multiple sources.
DSX SDK Updates
The latest version of Matrox DSX SDK includes Ultra-Low Latency (ULL) for both DSX LE5 and X.mio5 ST 2110 NIC and 12G SDI I/O cards. This feature allows for sub-field or sub-frame video transfer, reducing latency in broadcast applications. The new “large canvas” feature on X.mio5 cards supports customizable multi-channel outputs, enhancing multi-screen display workflows.
New DSX LE6 D100 Network Interface Card
Matrox's new 100 GbE ST 2110 network card is designed for high-performance media environments. Featuring dual QSFP 28 connectors, this PCIe Gen 4 x 8 card offers up to eight channels of UHD@p60 or two channels of 8Kp60 input and output with ST 2022-7 redundancy. It includes hardware-based PTP for precise synchronization and offloads packet processing from the CPU.
Conference Presentation
Marwan Al-Habbal, product manager for Matrox ORIGIN, will present on agile software production pipelines in IT environments during the BEIT conference. The session will explore event-driven asynchronous processing for Tier 1 live production, showcasing how Matrox Video's solutions can drive innovation in media workflows.
