The first official demonstration of the Sony BURANO 8K Digital Cinema camera will be exclusively livestreamed at 10 a.m PT / 6 p.m. GMT on Valentine’s Day, Feb.14 by Filmmakers Academy.

Filmmakers Academy will unveil the new, compact, full-frame camera system and its features live from Sony Studios in Hollywood, where they will push the BURANO’s sensor to the limits.

The live stream is a free event, available to everyone via the Filmmakers Academy platform.

Presenting Filmmakers Academy mentors are co-founder and director of photography Shane Hurlbut, ASC, Derek Johnson (DIT/Colorist) and Jason Robbins (A-Camera Gimbal Operator). The team will test the camera’s AutoFocus and Touch Tracking functions, examine its handheld stabilization capabilities, experiment with its gimbal performance using the Ronin 2 and RS 3 Pro — all while comparing it side-by-side with the VENICE 2.
