JVC Professional Video has unveiled its latest innovation in broadcast camera technology, the GY-HC900 CONNECTED CAM, designed for high-end EFP, ENG, and studio applications.
High-End Features
The new camcorder features a 2/3-inch camera with three CMOS image sensors, delivering full HD imagery with excellent sensitivity and signal-to-noise ratio. It also supports native recording of MPEG-2 at up to 35 Mbps and H.264 for production quality 10-bit, 4:2:2 footage.
IP Connectivity
The GY-HC900 CONNECTED CAM boasts built-in Wi-Fi and dual external antennas, allowing for up to 20 Mbps streaming performance when paired with the optional ProHD Dockable Bridge or via Wi-Fi with any ProHD Bridge unit.
This enables simultaneous recording, low latency streaming, and simultaneous decoding for return video and IFB. The camera also features Zixi™ error correction with automatic repeat request (ARQ) and SMPTE 2022 forward error correction to ensure reliable transmission.
Additional Features
The GY-HC900 CONNECTED CAM also includes a B4 lens mount, an industry standard, as well as features such as dual SDHC/SDXC memory card slots, OLED color viewfinder and LCD panel for menu navigation, integrated 3G-SDI pool feed input, three XLR audio inputs, wireless audio module slot, and an IPX2 water resistant rating.
Availability
The GY-HC900 CONNECTED CAM is available with or without a 20x zoom lens. The company will be showcasing the new camcorder at the Texas Association of Broadcasters convention on August 2 at the JW Marriott in downtown Austin, where attendees can learn more about its capabilities and applications.
