Government Broadcasting Organization Upgrades Production Capabilities

Hernando County Government Broadcasting, a Florida-based organization, has upgraded its studio and remote shoots with two Broadcast Pix Mica production switchers. The new systems have significantly improved the quality of its nearly 300 annual productions.

The organization produces a wide range of content, including coverage of more than 100 meetings, with a team of just two employees and a handful of volunteers. Many productions are handled by a one-person crew, making efficient workflow tools essential.

The Mica systems have been installed in the studio and used for remote shoots, which are often conducted using a converted ambulance equipped with eight-inch wheels. The organization's video production manager, Rick Foti, relies on several of the built-in Fluent Control workflow tools to streamline his productions.

Workflow Efficiency

Foti has designed the right screen to show preview, program, and video inputs, while the left screen is dedicated to graphics and effects. He also uses Broadcast Pix's customizable multi-view, Fluent-View, on both 32-inch monitors.

The Mica systems have made a significant impact on Foti's workflow, allowing him to access all necessary tools at his fingertips during productions. 'This has made my life so much easier,' he said. 'During a board meeting, everything is at my fingertips.'
