Blackmagic Design has played a key role in the successful delivery of Denmark's Grøn Festival, with all video production handled by an end-to-end live workflow featuring the company's products.
Festival Production Challenges
The festival, which takes place across eight different locations over consecutive days, presented several challenges for the production team. Live events specialist Deadlight Lydiksen was responsible for handling all aspects of video production from a purpose-built 12G-SDI outside broadcast (OB) van.
The team managed video feeds from two stages to LED backdrops and trailer-mounted LED big screens, with a Smart Videohub 12G routing all incoming and outgoing signals. The festival's acts also required unique content production, including the mixing of multiple camera feeds using ATEM 4 M/E switcher's SuperSource feature.
URSA Broadcast and Camera Fiber Converters
For acquisition, three URSA Broadcast units equipped with Blackmagic Camera Fiber Converters were used. Two units were positioned front of house and one acted as a pit camera. The ability to sync the URSA Broadcast via SDI was particularly useful, allowing for low latency without requiring additional cabling or generators.
Robust Solution
The festival's schedule covered 650 miles over eight days, making it essential to have a robust solution that could be relied upon regardless of the venue. The Blackmagic Design live workflow proved up to the task, providing the production team with complete confidence in their ability to deliver high-quality video across all locations.
