GatesAir is showcasing its Maxiva GNSS-PTP solution at the International Broadcasting Convention (IBC) this week. The product offers precise timing and frequency generation for mission-critical components in broadcasting and telecommunications networks.
Integrated Redundancy and Flexibility
The Maxiva GNSS-PTP is a 1RU device that connects to second-generation Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) and other timing sources. It provides up to twelve 10 MHz and 1 PPS reference signals, eliminating the need for individual standalone timing sources. This reduces both costs and installation times.
High Precision and Reliability
The solution ensures high precision through redundant AC power supplies with battery backup and multiple GNSS receivers featuring OCXO temperature control. It also includes a PTP hardware module that can function as either a master or slave, offering additional redundancy.
User-Friendly Interface
GatesAir has designed an integrated web interface to simplify user experience. This allows users to select frequency bands and configure timing source selection in both automatic and manual modes. The interface also includes visual aids such as detailed tracking maps, satellite status, and signal quality information.
Expert Insight
“GatesAir has a strong track record in providing reliable timing solutions for video, audio, and telecom networks,” said Keyur Parikh, Vice President of Engineering at GatesAir. “The Maxiva GNSS-PTP is a significant step forward in ensuring reliability, redundancy, and cost efficiency.”
