Oracle Red Bull Racing Commissions Final Pixel to Create First-Ever Formula 1 Virtual Production Campaign to Launch the New Oracle RB19 F1 Race Car

Earlier this year, Final Pixel dedicated significant resources to research and development of the latest technology and techniques for virtual production. Their goal was to deliver an innovative, accessible and forward-thinking model to help bring global enterprise and consumer brands into an entirely new era of immersive brand engagement leveraging virtual production. Now with this compelling new offering, Final Pixel is empowering its clients to envision a new world of creative possibility without limitation, and where creative ideas are no longer encumbered by outdated production processes and logistical boundaries.
Final Pixel, Oracle Red Bull Racing & Production Park Take an Early Lead
One of the first global branding campaigns resulting from Final Pixel’s new initiative was debuted earlier this month; a massively successful creative partnership between Final Pixel and the iconic Oracle Red Bull Racing brand. In cooperation with some of Final Pixel’s strategic partners – the XPLOR team and Production Park in West Yorkshire, UK – Final Pixel created Formula 1’s first ever virtual production campaign to launch Oracle Red Bull Racing’s newest Formula 1 race car, the Oracle RB19, to a global audience.
The resulting short film immerses viewers in a fantastic road trip across the United States, which would have been logistically impossible without the use of creative virtual production. Not only did virtual production aid the sustainability initiative of a carbon net zero production, it also solved numerous pain points that would have rendered the creative brief impossible. At the time of the shoot, the embargoed Oracle RB19 car was completely confidential and could not be seen by the public anywhere; shooting on location was unfeasible. To solve this, the team at Final Pixel blended real archive footage, video plates and drone footage with environments completely built in Unreal Engine, as well as CGI and VFX to create an exciting and immersive experience to showcase the Red Bull and Formula 1 brands.
