Euronews and Dalet Nominated for IBC2018 Innovation Award

The International Broadcasting Convention (IBC) has shortlisted Euronews, a leading global news channel, alongside Dalet, a provider of solutions and services for broadcasters and content professionals, for the IBC2018 Innovation Awards in the content creation category.

Euronews' 'Glocal' news operation, powered by Dalet Galaxy, has been recognized for its technical innovation. The project aimed to provide a single channel of news programming with identical video and English-only graphics delivered to countries with 12 different language versions.

Transforming Euronews

In the past, Euronews' legacy infrastructure had limited news to a 'one-size-fits-all' approach, relying on technicians to package non-localized news stories with 11 voice-overs. The lack of system integration pushed news air times to an hour or more.

To transform the operation, Euronews implemented Dalet's component-based workflow powered by the Dalet Galaxy Media Asset Management and Orchestration platform. This featured federated editorial tools that empowered 500 journalists and a workflow engine that maximized and automated complex, custom content delivery operations.
