Remote Newsgathering Solution Unveiled at IBC2015
A collaboration between ENCO and Yellowtec has resulted in a remote newsgathering solution that streamlines the process of gathering news content in the field. The partnership combines ENCO's iDAD mobile application with Yellowtec's iXM recording microphones to provide a high-quality, handheld system for reporters to record, process, and transfer audio files back to the studio.
The workflow reduces equipment costs by eliminating the need for expensive field recorders and allows reporters to deliver files directly to the studio without using codecs or driving back to the station. The iXM microphone features auto leveling to ensure pristine-quality recordings.
Wireless Connectivity and Editing Capabilities
iDAD can connect wirelessly to the iXM's internal WiFi storage device, allowing for direct access to iXM recordings for editing and director transfer to a radio station's DAD audio library. iDAD can also remotely control the ENCO DAD automation system at the studio.
