Don't miss the largest career fair in the broadcast industry! The NAB Education Foundation (NABEF) in partnership with the Broadcast Education Association (BEA) are hosting the Career Fair during the NAB Show in Las Vegas on Wednesday, April 9, from 10 am to 3 pm. The Career Fair is at the Las Vegas Hotel and Casino, Pavilion, 3000 Paradise Road, Las Vegas. (Self parking is free). The Las Vegas Hotel is directly adjacent to the Las Vegas Convention Center and offers access to the Skywalk Bridge.
Admission is free for job seekers. Select the "Exhibits Only" pass and input the promotional code "CF14" at the end.
Recruiters, employers, and hiring managers will want to sit in on the first panel discussion at 9 am in Pavilion 3 regarding the advantages of hiring military veterans. Panel members include representatives from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Hire Our Heroes initiative, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), the Department of Defense, and private industry. At 10 am a panel of recruiters will give a glimpse into the many facets of the broadcasting industry in Broadcasting Opportunities: Finding Your Niche. Explore the wide world of broadcasting with ESPN's Mike Boissonnealt and Tracy Gilliam of TopLine Matters.
Discover new paths, new options and opportunities.
At 11 am learn how building a professional brand for yourself can benefit your career. Find out how to create and manage your brand, both in-person and online. At noon Lynda E. Jean, BA, MSW, AICI, Certified Image Consultant, will teach you the Power of Professional Etiquette.
Half-hour mini-sessions in the afternoon will provide a look at different avenues in the broadcast industry. Diane "Di" Krehbiel, DKKD Staffing, and James Wright, Diversity & Inclusion Strategist, will speak on technology careers at 1:00 pm, Media Sales will be explained by Jeffrey Myers, FAMU Media Sales Institute, at 1:30 pm and David Ahrendts, Napoli Management Group (TV) will talk about on-air opportunities at 2:00 pm. Radio will be the focus of the last mini session at 2:30.
Reagan Frey, production support coordinator for ESPN, CT, attended the career fair last year. "It took me nine months to land this position. I applied at 73 different companies, got 19 interviews and thanks to this Career Fair, one job offer from ESPN." As Reagan knows, you only need one job offer if it's the right one.
The year before Trinity Chavez, a news intern at CBS News in NYC, met the director for News Associates and Internship Programs for CBS at the career fair. "I applied for an internship with CBS in New York and I got it!"
Employers can introduce themselves to high-quality candidates. Candidates will find employers from major broadcasting companies such as ESPN, Beasley Broadcast Group, Univision Radio and more.
