At the Media Production & Technology Show (MPTS) in London, EditShare is highlighting its latest advancements in media workflows and cloud integration. The company is introducing a new suite of FLEX software solutions designed to streamline production and post-production processes.
FLEX Software Suite for Cloud and Hybrid Workflows
The FLEX suite provides flexibility for editors, allowing them to work with any edit software from any location. It offers cost-effective cloud editing, remote collaboration, and secure archiving options. In its simplest form, FLEX Cloud Edit includes media asset management, high-performance storage, and virtual workstations in the AWS cloud.
The FLEX Cloud Edit+ bundle adds accelerated file transfer capabilities and comprehensive workstation management, while FLEX Cloud Sync simplifies backing up media libraries to AWS S3 for easy retrieval and LTO tape library retirement.
Enhancements in Editorial Workflows
Recent developments from EditShare include improved project synchronization with popular nonlinear editing systems such as Media Composer, Adobe Premiere Pro, and DaVinci Resolve. The latest version of the company's core FLOW workflow management software incorporates this integration, enabling smoother transitions between EditShare media management and NLE environments.
FLOW has also been updated to support the latest RAW format updates for RED and Blackmagic Design cameras, allowing real-time LUT application on both full-resolution and proxy materials. Additionally, it can now ingest NDI contribution feeds for fast turnaround editing in news and sports broadcasting.
Multi-Site Synchronization and Nearline Storage
To enhance security and sharing across multiple locations, EditShare has introduced EFS Multi-Site, which uses built-in file acceleration to synchronize project storage between clusters. This ensures users can access content regardless of their location.
The company is also showcasing the EFS 60NL, a nearline storage solution offering 60 drive bays in just 4U of rack space. Ideal for storing content that needs to be readily accessible but not immediately worked on, this system facilitates seamless transfers to online servers with minimal delay.
Stephen Tallamy, CTO of EditShare, emphasized the company's commitment to simplifying workflows and enhancing security. “Our focus is on making it easier for our customers to use their preferred tools while ensuring content security and availability,” he said. “We are excited to share these developments with the media tech community in London.”
