Live 4K Broadcasts in Australia

Australia is set to witness the first live 4K test broadcasts with NEP Australia, a leading provider of outsourced technical production solutions. The company has purchased four additional DTC AEON RF systems to expand its existing ultra-high definition (UHD-4K) inventory.

The new AEON RF systems will be employed in four mobile production units – HD11, HD12, HD13, and HD14 – as part of a major upgrade to make them fully UHD-4K capable for FOX SPORTS' 4K cricket coverage. The broadcasts are expected to begin from November.

AEON RF Performance

Marc Segar, Director of Technical Services at NEP Australia, has praised the performance of AEON in 4K mode. He stated that the RF system outperforms their current HD systems and has excellent RF performance in 4K mode.

The success of the trials with NEP and FOX SPORTS has paved the way for an exciting new era in Australian sports television, according to Gareth James, DTC Domo Broadcast Regional Sales Manager – APAC. He also credited AV Group Technologies, led by Managing Director Adrian Chespy, for their excellent sales and technical support.
