DPA Microphones showcases its latest compact 2017 Shotgun Microphone, a versatile tool for diverse applications. The microphone is set to debut at NAB 2024, where it will demonstrate its capabilities in challenging environments.

Compact Design with Robust Features

The 2017 measures just 7.24 inches (184mm) in length, making it more compact than many popular solutions while maintaining impressive technological features. It offers extreme durability, high directivity, clarity, and consistency for capturing authentic sound.

Versatile and Easy to Set Up

Designed with versatility in mind, the 2017 is ideal for indoor or outdoor fixed or booming applications in live sports, news broadcasts, location sound, and more. It can also be used on a front-of-house boom or fly bar during live events.

Durable Construction

Helga Volha Somava, Product Management Director at DPA Microphones, emphasizes the microphone's flexibility and durable design. “Its ability to withstand difficult environments or extreme weather makes the 2017 ideal for broadcasters or live production professionals working in an array of applications,” she says.

Environmental Resilience

The microphone is built to endure harsh conditions, including extreme temperatures and mechanical impact. It has been tested up to 113°F (45°C) with 90-percent relative humidity and as low as -40°F (-40°C). The 2017 can handle humid conditions, direct rain showers, and dry, arid environments.

Outstanding Performance

The 2017 features a specially designed capsule paired with an advanced interference tube and microphone grid. This combination offers outstanding performance both on- and off-axis, with high off-axis rejection that allows the main source to stand out clearly.
