DPA Microphones has announced its latest innovation: the d:screet Slim Microphone. This new solution is specifically designed for bodyworn capture in film and television production, where a near-invisible microphone is crucial.
Unique Design Features
The d:screet Slim features a flat head with an omnidirectional capsule element, a slender cable, and a button-hole mount accessory. This design allows the microphone to be placed virtually anywhere without being seen, making it ideal for television and film production.
The new button-hole mount provides a 90-degree sound input angle, enabling the cable to lay flat against a surface rather than sticking straight out. The combination of the size and available accessories increases the number of mounting solutions, giving users more flexibility in their productions.
Audio Quality and Compatibility
The d:screet Slim is equipped with DPA's renowned d:screet 4060 capsule with high sensitivity and the 4061 capsule with low sensitivity. This combination provides exceptional audio quality with low self-noise, making it suitable for a wide range of applications.
As with all DPA microphones, the d:screet Slim is compatible with all major wireless adapters, ensuring seamless integration into existing workflows.
Availability and Accessories
The d:screet Slim Microphone will be available for delivery by the end of 2015. The microphone is available in four color options – beige, white, black, and brown – making it easy to blend in with various settings and environments.
In addition to the microphone itself, DPA has also introduced a range of accessories designed to further enhance the d:screet Slim's concealability. These include a separable construction concealer solution, allowing users to keep the base fixed at the clothing while removing the top part independently.
