A new tool from Dalet is streamlining the newsroom workflow by leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to assist journalists in finding relevant content. The company's latest addition, Dalet Content Discovery, integrates seamlessly into the Dalet Galaxy five Workflow Orchestration and MAM platform, offering a range of features designed to enhance editorial processes.
Enhancing Journalist Research
The module automatically tags and indexes content using advanced data models and natural language processing (NLP) technologies. This allows journalists to quickly access relevant assets such as clips, videos, stories, pitches, wires, and multimedia content as they develop their stories.
Dalet Content Discovery Board presents suggested content based on the journalist's assignments or work in progress. The suggestions are updated in real-time whenever new relevant assets are added to the system, ensuring that journalists always have access to the most current information.
Fostering Collaboration and Efficiency
The intuitively designed Discovery Board gives journalists a snapshot of similar news stories that are currently being developed. This feature encourages collaboration across departments, especially in large, multisite news organizations where sharing knowledge is crucial. Journalists covering the same story beats can easily connect on topics that require teamwork while maintaining control over sensitive information.
News directors can also benefit from this tool by viewing various story angles across different departments through the visual snapshot of newsroom activity on any given topic. This helps them better balance the overall news lineup and ensure a diverse range of content is presented to audiences.
In-Action at NAB 2018
NAB 2018 attendees can see Dalet Content Discovery in action on booth SL8010. The tool will be showcased as part of the company's presence at the event, demonstrating its capabilities and how it can improve newsroom operations.
