Karl Prentiss has been appointed as the Director of Production for Red House Streaming, effective immediately. Reporting to Vice President Lowell Beckner, Prentiss will oversee in-house broadcast and A/V productions at CP Communications' St. Petersburg facility.
Prentiss brings extensive experience to his new role, having worked in broadcast engineering and production since 1979. He started his career as a Master Control Operator for WBAK-TV in Terre Haute, Indiana, before moving to Florida to work at WPTV-TV and WPEC-TV. In Tampa, he served as the Master Control Supervisor at WFTS-TV for a decade.
Beckner on Prentiss
Lowell Beckner highlighted Prentiss' qualifications: “Karl's engineering expertise and understanding of studio operations are complemented by his creative vision. He has a proven track record in producing high-quality content and pushing the boundaries of our industry.”
After leaving WFTS-TV in 2014, Prentiss launched his own photography business, Prentiss Photography, specializing in portrait, wedding, and commercial photography. In 2017, he moved to Indiana to work as the Creative Projects Manager for The Skinny Productions and Fatheadz Eyewear, where he managed all aspects of production, including building an in-house video studio with vMix 4K Production software.
Prentiss' Role at Red House Streaming
At Red House Streaming, Prentiss will lead the local production team, providing custom solutions for live events and recorded programming. The RHS production complex includes two 600-square-foot studios equipped with Panasonic AW-UE100KP 4K PTZ cameras, Sennheiser wireless microphones, and DMX lighting.
Studio A features a professional anchor desk with multiple monitors for branding, while Studio B offers a chromakey space for virtual packages. The adjacent control room is equipped with vMix 64 4K production switchers and a Yamaha TF1 64-channel audio console with Dante interface.
In addition to studio operations, Prentiss will manage field projects using RHS’ CamSTREAM system for remote/REMI productions and other advanced mobile technology. Red House Streaming's facilities support broadcast-quality programming for both post-production editing and immediate streaming on various platforms.
