Global production studio CoPilot Co. is committed to redefining the future of visual storytelling, specializing in virtual production, custom LED volume integration, and AI tool development. Headquartered in Winnipeg, Canada, the CoPilot team is known throughout the industry for its educational YouTube channel which reaches thousands of subscribers worldwide, exploring various virtual production workflows and showcasing innovative new technology.
CoPilot has long relied on and recommended Brompton LED processors to achieve the best results on virtual production projects and has delved into Brompton features such as TrueLight on its YouTube channel to educate others.
“When it comes to virtual production studio builds, reliability and efficiency are essential, which is why we recommend Brompton processors to our clients,” shared Austin MacKay, Co-Founder and Director of Virtual Production at CoPilot. “We especially love Brompton processors because of their ease of use. Other processors can be incredibly daunting at times, but the Brompton interface is intuitive and simple to navigate, making it easy for our clients’ production teams to make adjustments.”

Over the past year, the studio added a new state-of-the-art R&D showroom at its Winnipeg facility, both for internal testing and to show prospective clients and YouTube viewers the possibilities of using virtual production for projects of any size and budget. The new showroom features a 20 ft x 10 ft LED wall comprised of ROE Black Pearl 2 V2 LED panels and powered by Brompton’s LED processors. Other technologies used include Blackmagic Design, Mo-Sys StarTracker Max, Mo-Sys Vision Max (CE), ARRI lighting, Unreal Engine 5, and CoPilot’s own FlightDeck, an AI-based tool enabling users to control Unreal Engine via simple conversational commands. Catering to newer Unreal users, FlightDeck allows anyone to jump right in to a virtual production workflow and quickly and easily build digital environments, control scenes, and adjust lighting in real time.
The showroom has been essential for CoPilot’s recent projects, including building out a new virtual production studio for ExxonMobil’s in-house creative team, and working on the production of an upcoming independent sci-fi short film. By being able to rigorously test various LED panels, LED processors, motion and camera tracking solutions, lighting setups, and cinematic camera systems, the showroom has been an invaluable addition to CoPilot’s facility and offerings. As production progresses on the short film, CoPilot has also been documenting the process through weekly video updates on its YouTube channel, serving as a way to educate the public about the benefits and challenges of virtual production.
“CoPilot not only does great work with virtual production and stage builds, but the company’s commitment to education and transparency is really critical for the success of the whole industry,” said Cesar Caceres, Product Lead, Brompton Technology. “Along with their FlightDeck tool, it’s clear that they are doing a lot to welcome new users into the virtual production space and make it more accessible. We’re thrilled that Brompton processing is a key part of their facility and client offerings.”
