Cloudbass introduces two new IP remote production trucks designed to support a hybrid workflow for top-tier football coverage. The vehicles, which will be operational this summer, enhance Cloudbass’ capabilities in scalable, IP-based production environments.

New OB Trucks Aim for Efficiency and Sustainability

The trucks are built in collaboration with dB Broadcast and are designed to optimize space, weight, and power efficiency while meeting the demands of frequent redeployment. This focus on sustainability aligns with Cloudbass’s commitment to reducing energy consumption.

arkona BLADE//runner AT300 Platform

Cloudbass selected arkona’s BLADE//runner AT300 platform for SDI gateway functions. The platform features a flexible and modular software framework, providing tools for audio/video routing, compression, and processing. It operates on FPGA-based programmable acceleration cards (PACs) and is controlled via arkona’s EASY-IP interface.

The AT300’s compact design and high density make it suitable for truck environments with limited rack space, while its scalability supports seamless expansion. The VCC option offers high-quality HDR <-> SDR LUT-based conversion, essential for Tier-1 sports broadcasting.

manifold CLOUD Multiviewer

In addition to the arkona solution, Cloudbass will use manifold’s low-latency CLOUD multiviewer. This system provides powerful and energy-efficient multiview capabilities with unmatched flexibility and scalability, enabling dynamic adjustments to production needs.

Cloudbass’s Commitment to Innovation

“Innovation is at the heart of what we do, but our top priority is getting content to air seamlessly,” says Mike Beaumont, Technical Director at Cloudbass. “arkona and manifold provide compact, scalable, and efficient systems that meet the challenges of modern OB production including reduced energy consumption, efficiency, scalability, and low latency.”

Studio Suite — Studio Hero

These new trucks will be a key part of Cloudbass’s fleet, supporting high-quality productions across HDR and SDR formats in UHD, 1080p, and 1080i resolutions.
