The Cinema Audio Society has opened submissions for the 60th Annual CAS Awards, recognizing outstanding achievements in sound mixing. Entries are being accepted until November 30, 2023, with applications for the Student Recognition Award due by November 13, 2023.
Awards Timeline and Categories
The ceremony will return to the Beverly Hilton on March 2, 2024, marking its first time at this venue in 25 years. The awards honor excellence in seven categories: Motion Pictures – Live Action, Motion Pictures – Animated, Motion Pictures – Documentary, Non-Theatrical Motion Pictures or Limited Series, Television Series – One Hour, Television Series – Half Hour, and Television Non-Fiction, Variety or Music – Series or Specials.
The submission process includes nomination ballot voting from December 19 to January 2,2024. Final nominees will be announced on January 9,2024, with the final round of voting taking place from February 8 to February 20,2024.
Notable Honors
This year's event will also feature Joe Earle CAS, a multi-award-winning sound mixer known for his work on American Horror Story and Six Feet Under, receiving the Career Achievement Award. The Filmmaker of the Year honoree for 2024 is yet to be announced.
The Student Recognition Award, a key part of the CAS's commitment to nurturing new talent, will also be presented at the ceremony.
