Capitol Broadcasting Company, which operates WRAL-TV, WRAZ-TV, WILM-TV, and WNGT-TV in North Carolina, has selected Triveni Digital's Station Manager to simplify its ATSC 3.0 and 1.0 operations. The deployment marks a significant step towards more efficient management of broadcast services.
Streamlined Operations with Single Interface
Peter Sockett, director of engineering and operations at Capitol Broadcasting Company, expressed excitement about the collaboration. “Deploying Triveni Digital's Station Manager was a strategic decision that will streamline our ATSC 3.0 and 1.0 operations, saving us both time and money on a corporate-wide level,” Sockett said.
The Station Manager provides a unified interface for configuring, controlling, and monitoring the broadcast chains of ATSC 3.0, ATSC 1.0, and virtual channels. It offers comprehensive control over all aspects of the ATSC 3.0 broadcast chain, including encoding, ROUTE/MMTP server management, gateway operations, statmux processes, usage metering, delivery, and service availability.
Efficiency Gains Across Multiple Stations
Ralph Bachofen, vice president of sales and marketing at Triveni Digital, highlighted the benefits for Capitol Broadcasting Company. “The Station Manager will provide Capitol Broadcasting Company with a single, easy-to-use interface for controlling NEXTGEN TV services, which is ideal for a broadcasting entity overseeing multiple stations,” Bachofen stated.
By adopting Triveni Digital's solution, Capitol Broadcasting Company can avoid the need to separately configure and manage NEXTGEN TV equipment, leading to significant efficiency gains. The system will be showcased at the 2024 ATSC NEXTGEN Broadcast Conference in Washington, D.C., offering broadcasters a glimpse into more efficient management practices.
