CommunicAsia / EnterpriseIT will be held from 17 - 20 June 2014. Here are a couple of products that have "turned some heads" at the show!

ATOMOS showcases the all-in-one Shogun 4K-capable recorder-monitor!  It can record in Apple ProRes 4K or Cinema DNG Raw. Also, if you are into slow-motion shots, the Shogun can also record up to 120 frames per second in full HD (1,920 x 1,080). Like the Samurai and Ninja Blade, Shogun allows you to set up the shot with waveform and monitor assist tools, record pristine, 422 10-bit images straight from the camera sensor directly, all to inexpensive single SSDs or RAIDed HDDs, captured using 4K/HD ProRes, Uncompressed RAW Cinema DNG or Avid DNxHD codecs.Since the company was founded in 2010 Atomos has broken new ground in the design and functionality of recording, monitoring and playback devices. By listening closely to their customers Atomos recognized a common need for a light and portable ProRes recorder which has greater flexibility with mounting options. 

CANON introduces the DP-V3010. This 4K reference display is engineered to support viewing applications related to 4K material, perfect for 4K digital cinema-centric and 4K UHD source image formats. The DP-V3010 is capable of up-converting HD or 2K to 4K, the 30-inch, 16:10 display has a resolution of 4,096 x 2,560 pixels, and uses an IPS LCD panel supported by a Canon-designed a RGB LED back-light system. It also has multiple 3G-SDI I/O ports and four DisplayPort interfaces. A separate Display Controller can be used to access its 4K Reference Display functions

 Thomson Video Networks demonstrated Premium Ad Insertion Solutions with the integration of its Sapphire MPEG stream server with Ideal Systems' SoftCast software suite for streamlined TV channel operation and management. Sapphire is a CIAB thatEmbedded image permalink provides functions to ingest, process, brand and generate TV channels ready for air. It offers capture, playout, and ad insertion capabilities and frame-accurate operation for MPEG-2 and H.264 compressed content. SoftCast is now available for purchase from the Ideal Systems online store. The integration of Sapphire with the SoftCast Automation, Broadcast Schedule Planning (traffic), and Broadcast Ad Sales (ad scheduling) modules addresses broadcasters' new-generation playout requirements with a hybrid solution for both MPEG and base-band video delivery. Also, on display is the ViBE range of encoders for contribution and distribution, Thomson Video Networks' ad insertion and channel-in-a-box solutions and a demonstration of a packaged OTT offerings!
