Broadcast Management Group (BMG) has integrated JVC Professional Video solutions into its production arsenal, choosing a range of PTZ cameras and remote controllers to support various client projects. The company selected the KY-PZ510BU Ultra-Wide-Angle, KY-PZ200BU Streaming, and KY-PZ100BU PTZ Cameras, along with RM-LP100U and RM-LP5G Remote Camera Controllers.
Versatile Solutions for Diverse Productions
BMG Founder and CEO Todd Mason highlighted the versatility of JVC's offerings. “Our account rep at JVC was very effective in showcasing the brand’s PTZ cameras, and a demonstration convinced us that JVC was our best option,” Mason stated.
The company has installed these solutions across multiple client facilities, leveraging them for live sporting events broadcast to networks such as ESPN and CBS. BMG often uses JVC PTZs in announcer booths during games, requiring fewer manned cameras on-site due to the remote operation capability of the devices.
Cost-Effective Streaming Solutions
Mason praised the advanced streaming capabilities of the JVC cameras, noting that SRT (Secure Reliable Transport) functionality directly from the PTZs significantly reduces the need for expensive encoders and decoders. This feature is particularly beneficial as BMG's productions continue to scale.
BMG also deploys these cameras in client-owned studio facilities, such as the Schwab Network. For projects like those involving talking heads and remote guests, the PTZs provide an efficient solution without the need for manned cameras on set.
Innovative Remote Control
The company has traditionally used JVC RM-LP100U controllers but has recently adopted the newer RM-LP5G Compact Joystick Controller. Mason noted, “We first saw that controller at NAB and recognized its cost-effectiveness.”
The variety of JVC models allows BMG to cater to a wide range of client needs, ensuring flexibility in production setups.
