Blackmagic Design has announced a significant price reduction on its ATEM Mini Pro and ATEM Mini Pro ISO live production switchers. The ATEM Mini Pro is now available for US$295, while the ATEM Mini Pro ISO model costs US$495. This price drop, made possible by manufacturing efficiencies, aims to make high-quality multi-camera live production more accessible.

New Features and Capabilities

The ATEM Mini Pro models are designed for users who want to create professional live streams for platforms like YouTube, Facebook, and Twitch. They offer built-in recording, streaming, and multiview monitoring capabilities. The switchers can handle up to four high-quality video camera inputs and feature a hardware-based streaming engine that supports Ethernet or USB connections.

The ISO models go a step further by allowing users to record multiple video streams simultaneously, including clean feeds of all inputs and program outputs. They also generate a DaVinci Resolve project file, enabling easy post-production editing.

Compact Design and Multiview Monitoring

The ATEM Mini Pro models boast a compact design that integrates both the control panel and connections in one unit. This includes large source buttons for intuitive switching and dedicated audio mixing controls. The multiview feature allows users to monitor all video inputs, preview, and program outputs on a single HDMI display.

The switchers support phone tethering, enabling remote streaming via mobile data using high-speed 5G or 4G phones. This makes them ideal for on-location productions where reliable internet connections may be limited.

Improved Accessibility

With the price reduction, Blackmagic Design aims to make professional live production more affordable for a broader audience. The switchers are now available immediately from authorized resellers worldwide.

Grant Petty, CEO of Blackmagic Design, commented on the pricing change: 'Since we released these models, we have been working hard to improve our manufacturing processes to reduce costs. This price reduction makes these powerful switchers more accessible for customers who want to share their content globally.'
