Enhanced Monitoring Capabilities
Broadcasters now have a more comprehensive view into their signal performance with the release of Version 6 of Belar's FMHD-1 modulation monitor software.
The new software includes an optional module for Automatic Delay Correction (ADC), which enables seamless alignment of analog and digital feeds. The ADC module establishes an IP connection between the FMHD-1 monitor and devices containing the diversity delay, closing the loop and continuously maintaining the delay correction.
Improved Performance Monitoring
The software update also provides broadcasters with a clearer picture into overall performance monitoring. The new release delivers dynamic graphics to capture and communicate modulation activity, including short-term activity like peak-versus-time performance and historical data graphing that demonstrates performance trends over longer time periods.
Broadcasters can view the graphical information on the FMHD-1 front panel or remotely using Belar's WizWin software, eliminating labor-intensive manual adjustments and enabling remote connectivity to monitor performance from any location.
Compatibility and Pricing
The ADC module is available for both new and existing FMHD-1 mod monitors. For existing units, broadcasters can request the field-upgradeable module, ensuring a seamless upgrade path. The activation fee for the ADC module is $749, with no charge for monitors purchased after January 1, 2015 through the end of this year.
The software update also supports several devices, including GatesAir Flexiva HDE-200 Exporter and Nautel Exporter Plus, as well as multiple Omnia, Orban, and Wheatstone audio processors.
