The BBC Natural History Unit once again chooses the Panasonic VariCam 35 and VariCam HS after a three month test shoot, which was supported directly by Panasonic and Films@59! The Panasonic Varicam series cameras is no stranger to the Bristol based Natural History Unit. The VariCam has been the camera of choice for NHU, with nearly 30 of the second generation HD camcorders used on productions such as, Planet Earth, Frozen Planet, and Africa.
The Varicam models features an innovative modular design, has 35mm 4K (AU-V35C1) which is seperate to the recording module unit (AU-VREC1), which allows interchange with the awesome Panasonic split apart using an extension cable of lengths up to 20 meters- making this absolutely suitable for use in helicopters, cranes, and cars!
