The fifth season of the popular Australian comedy fantasy series “1 For All” is currently airing on Deerstalker Pictures’ YouTube channel, utilizing Blackmagic Design cameras and software. The show, which first premiered in 2019, follows a group of dysfunctional friends as they immerse themselves in the world of Dungeons and Dragons.

Production Tools

The series is directed by Elliot Owen Charles and produced and cinematographed by Goldie Soetianto. Soetianto uses Blackmagic Design’s Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro and URSA Mini Pro 4.6K G2 for filming, leveraging their affordability and high image quality to create a professional look on a budget.

“I’ve always had a passion for creating through various mediums,” Soetianto said. “I fell in love with cinematography and its ability to tell stories without words, just through composition and lighting.”

Workflow Efficiency

The URSA Mini Pro 4.6K G2 was chosen as the main production camera due to its ease of use and robust build. Soetianto highlighted the camera’s ample space for sound, monitoring, and focus, making it ideal for production mode.

“Great pictures at an affordable price point allowed us to make a professional-looking product on a low budget,” she explained. “Blackmagic Design makes filmmaking accessible, with many options for camera gear, editing, and color grading software.”

Post-Production

The post-production process is handled using DaVinci Resolve, a versatile tool that supports editing, grading, visual effects (VFX), and audio post production. Soetianto praised the software for its ability to create professional-quality content without steep costs.

“There are so many affordable options when it comes to camera gear, editing, and color grading software,” she continued. “This makes it easier to tell the stories we want to tell!”

The fifth season of “1 For All”, split into six five-minute episodes, showcases the continued success of this unique Australian comedy series.
