Broadcast equipment manufacturer Appear has joined the TICO Alliance, a coalition of companies working to establish interoperability for broadcast IP migration and support Ultra-HD infrastructure.

Interoperability Key to UHDTV Adoption

The broadcast industry is shifting from traditional SDI-based workflows to IP-enabled live production ecosystems. To facilitate this transition, Appear has joined the TICO Alliance, a coalition of companies committed to establishing interoperability for broadcast IP migration.

TICO compression technology enables high-quality Ultra-HD transport over 10G IP networks or legacy 3G-SDI links with minimal latency. This lightweight compression is particularly valuable in IP production environments where studio-grade signals can be easily routed between local and remote locations.

Appear's Commitment to UHDTV

As a member of the TICO Alliance, Appear will leverage its expertise in IP connectivity to contribute to the development of standards and specifications for UHDTV infrastructure. The company's X10 and X20 product range will now incorporate TICO compression, allowing for premium quality UHD transport over 10G IP networks or legacy 3G-SDI links.
