Major media organization Antenna Group has completed a rapid migration to Imagine Communications' Landmark™ Rights and Scheduling software as a managed service. This move has streamlined operations and enhanced workflow efficiency for the broadcaster, which recently acquired Sony Pictures Television’s network portfolio in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE).

Efficient Migration within Tight Deadline

The acquisition added 22 pay TV channels, two streaming services, and over 24 million subscribers across 12 territories to Antenna Group's portfolio. To manage the transition smoothly within a tight deadline, Antenna partnered with Imagine Communications to migrate its rights and scheduling operations. The project was completed in less than 12 weeks, including the creation of SaaS instances, migration of on-premises databases, and training of the team.

Costas Colombus on the Migration

"Managing rights and scheduling across multiple linear and digital platforms in various territories is inherently complex," said Costas Colombus, CTO of Antenna Group. "Imagine Communications provided us with complete confidence in the rapid migration process, as well as the advantages of using Landmark as a SaaS solution, which was commercially compelling."

Benefits of Cloud Managed Services

The new system, operating within Imagine's dedicated cloud, has enabled Antenna to streamline workflows and maximize return on investment by shifting from a capital expenditure (CapEx) model to an operational expenditure (OpEx) model. Mathias Eckert, SVP & GM EMEA and APAC at Imagine Communications, explained that this approach allows media enterprises to focus on their core business of content creation and monetization without worrying about software updates or routine maintenance.

Local Expertise Supports Migration

The migration project was supported by specialists from Imagine Communications and local distributor Amy DV in Athens. According to David Chalkidis, manager at Amy DV, the decision to migrate to a modern version of Landmark Rights & Scheduling enabled Antenna to prepare for a converged linear and digital future while streamlining its significant transition.

Landmark Rights & Scheduling provides comprehensive tools for rights management and scheduling, enabling media companies to optimize their programming assets and maximize profits. Its scheduling engine allows the creation of single or multichannel schedules, combining program content and advertisements into a precise playlist.
