A new tool designed to streamline the content creation process has been introduced by Alteon.io. The company has launched Alteon Accelerator, a desktop application that significantly enhances the speed of media file uploads for content creators.
Boosting Upload Speeds
Traditionally, internet upload speeds have lagged behind download speeds, posing challenges for creatives who need to transfer large media files efficiently. Alteon Accelerator addresses this issue by leveraging IBM Aspera technology, which can increase upload speeds up to 5TB in size by 100% compared to standard TCP methods.
Seamless Integration and Security
The application is compatible with both Mac and Windows systems and can be initiated remotely. Users can directly upload large files, including professional RAW formats, to Alteon’s secure cloud platform. Once uploaded, the system automatically generates proxy files for easier sharing and management.
Enhancing Collaboration
This latest addition is part of a series of updates from Alteon.io aimed at improving the content creation experience. The company has also introduced real-time video comments, a workflow extension for Final Cut Pro, and cloud-based transcoding for Blackmagic RAW media files.
CEO's Vision
Matt Cimaglia, co-founder and CEO of Alteon.io, highlighted the importance of this development: “Camera resolutions and internet speeds are increasing exponentially. Content creators can shoot ultra-high-definition footage with a smartphone, but transferring this data remains a challenge. Our goal is to help these creatives achieve their ambitions by fostering an accessible, open, and diverse creator economy.”
Alteon Accelerator is available now for free download from the Alteon website.
