A&E Networks has promoted fifteen year veteran executive Laura Fleury to the post of Senior Vice President of Programming International at the network. Prior to this posting, Fleury had been the vice president of development and programming at A&E's Lifetime Movie Network (LMN).
A&E Networks is a global company based in New York City that was founded with just two channels in 1984. Since then, the company had grown into a broadcasting giant with 50 channels broadcasting in 37 languages to over 300 million subscribers in 150 countries around the world.
Patrick Vein, A&E's Executive Managing Director for International said of the Fluery move that,
“Laura is a veteran TV executive whose track record for delivering ratings hits and long-running, culturally-relevant franchises will be a major asset to the international team. With an eye toward making our brands more meaningful both locally and globally, her diverse acumen will be crucial for driving tailored programming strategies, market by market, and as we deepen our commitment to local production.”

As she takes over the full reigns for international development, she will oversee the growth of the network's international presence. She will look to grow the already formidable presence of such A&E Networks channels as History, A&E and Lifetime. Her new position will also place her in charge of acquisitions as well as programming and scheduling.
Jana Bennett, President of LMN, said that,
"Laura is a skilled executive who has already built an impressive track record of significant accomplishments at LMN. Her powerful programming slate has led to significant audience growth for the network resulting in LMN’s placement among the top 25 networks for women."
Fluery has also developed programming on the BIO channel and was instrumental in many of the network's Emmy nominated programming content like
Beyond Scared Straight, The First 48, The Killer Speaks and
Parking Wars.
Of her promotion, Fleury said that,
“I’m thrilled to expand my experience into such an important part of our business, and one that is under such strong leadership. I’m a storyteller by nature and by trade, and to be able to collaborate with talented storytellers around the world as we grow the A&E brands is a dream come true."
