Advanced HDR by Technicolor is a single layer distribution technology enabling transmission of SDR and HDR in a single stream, by which it enables the transition from SDR to HDR content for ATSC3 in a fully backward compatible way and at the lowest possible bandwidth. The transmission of HDR quality in SDR format even enables an 8-bit AVC compression to be used without any loss in image quality or any compression artefacts.
